Men In Black
Shots from a demonstration organised by Men In Black in Aarhus. They criticised the government's handling of the corona crisis and restrictions that seemed to continue spreading with no end in sight.
Royal Statue Rediscovered in Bike Cellar
For an exhibition about the Danish sculptor Helen Schou in Randers, Aarhus Town Hall was contacted in the hopes that they might have a few sketches of one of her main pieces, a sculpture of King Christian X on horseback. Turns out they had the entirety of the original cast for the five meter statue in their basement. Conservators and an art shipping company spent the entire day gently moving, cleaning and packing the pieces with specialized equipment.
The Grand Reopening
After a year of tough covid-19 restrictions the bars reopened in april 2021. We followed the boozy trail on the people's first real night out in a long while.
Masquerade
When masks became a mandatory part of everyone's day-to-day lives, they also became a new, albeit forced, way of expression. This series sought out the many variations people had come up with.
Raccoon Dog Hunting
The hunt for raccoon dogs isn't necessarily glamorous, but they are an invasive species in Denmark and they're multiplying exponentially. Posing a major threat to a number of protected native species, the only way to fight the population is hunting. Hunters have been allowed to use thermal scopes and other advantages that are normally illegal, in the quest to keep the raccoon dogs at bay.
On a cold and rainy night, Peter Staunsbjerg sits in his tower quietly waiting for the unwelcome guests to take the bait he's put out. A couple of hours later he's back home satisfied that there now are two less raccoon dogs to worry about.
